I took my car in on 8/14/19 to have them check on a rattling noise I was hearing. They suggested I replace my oil pan gasket because they said it was leaking oil. I declined because I didn't have the $ to fix it at then. They had no notes of any other damage needing fixed. I then took my car in on 10/07/19 to replace my oil pan gasket because I noticed some oil drops on my driveway, so I thought I better get it fixed. They replaced my oil pan gasket. A few days later, I notice a considerable amount of oil on my driveway, so i called them and brought my car back in. They looked at it and pointed out to me that they put on the invoice that the bolts attaching to the upper oil pan were stripped and claimed it was probably done a while back somewhere else and finally jogged loose enough to cause the oil to leak. They told me it would cost around $2000 to fix. I've only taken my car to the dealership while it was under warranty from 2012 to 2017 and there forth, only Tuffy. I looked through the invoices from the dealership and couldn't figure out where the bolts were ever messed with. Until, I decided to take my car in to get a second opinion at Christian Brothers. They told me that in order to change the oil pan gasket, they would have had to access the bolts attaching the upper oil pan to the oil pan to complete it. Christian Bradley, from Christian Bros. said he would talk to whomever if needed to verify. 402-401-**** The also commented that the $2000 tuffy quoted me, would be a very cheap quote to disassemble the engine. They quoted me over $3000! I'm so disappointed that tuffy would do this.. I just had a simple oil pan gasket to repair, and I ended up with this mess. How can you help me? User's recommendation: Do not go to Tuffy! they cause damage and want you to pay to repair it.
