Short-lasting La-Z-Boy “leather” armchair

I bought a manufactured "leather" office armchair made by La-Z-Boy about 2.5 years ago, together with a 2-year extended warranty. About 2 months after the extended warranty expired, the outer layer of the "leather" began to peel off on the sitting areas of the chair. It is beyond repair, now. User's recommendation: Do they make those furniture in China?
