Short cut chicken strips

In years past, out of the bag they were dry as if just being cut. These last 2/3 years they are slimy out of the bag. After 3X I stopped buying them but then on occasion try again - same. Bought them for many years and loved them - refrigerated but like a breast that had been cut - NOT a slimy mess. Purdue - what's up?
