Screen protector warranty void due to break when dropping phone…

1

I registered my 40$ iphone belkin screen protector, mainly due to its "lifetime warranty". I get an email from them after providing all the requested information (picture of damage, proof of purchase, etc.) and they tell me this "cracks or any damages due to accidents or abnormal physical stress, regardless if intentional or not, is not covered and will void the warranty." ....how does this make sense? The warranty is void if the protector breaks while doing its function of protecting the phone's screen? What would be considered "normal physical stress"....? What so it's supposed to just crack while my phone is sitting there for no reason and then its covered? Belkin is surprisingly shady about their policies for such a well-known brand. User's recommendation: Good products. Don't care about you once they take your $.
