Scam involving your company

I received an invitation to interview for a data entry position at what I was told was your company, I did the interview, and was apparently hired, but then the interviewer asked me to send them 1000 dollars to purchase my work materials from your approved vendor? The email used was 1lenlakiri1@***.com. He told me he was an employee of Amway LLC.
