I plugged in my hair straightener this morning and immediately there was a loud pop and sparks flew out of my straightener leaving debris and smoke smudges on my wall. Model rvst2080. It hasn't been dropped or shown any problems up until today. The cord was not worn or shown signs of distress. The fact that this is apparently a common issue is completely unnerving and unacceptable.
