First contacted them for a home mortgage. We were pre-approved without any problems. We put a home under contract and it gave First Tennessee Bank (FTB) forty five days to close. Everything progressed very nicely until the home appraisal. FTB chose a company, Assurant Appraisals, LLC DBA Assurant Valuations, 28046 Network Place, Chicago, IL 60673-****, to do the job and we paid $585.00 dollars for it. Which was $100.00 dollars over most other companies. That’s when things went south. FTB chosen company asked for more money to do the job on FTB’s recommendation. The bank pulled the money and chose another company to do the job for $485.00 dollars. When the new company said they wouldn’t be able to do the job by closing, FTB asked for an extension and required us to pay an additional fee to the bank for $521.00 dollars and fifteen days. We declined and the contract was concealed. At this point we are out for $585.oo dollars and haven’t been able to get reimbursed for the house appraisal deposit. This has been going on for a month now. For everyone that reads this, First Tennessee Bank doesn’t keep your mortgage accounts they sell them off to other companies. So find out how they are and go through them. As far as a Home Inspection company, don’t use Assurant Appraisals, LLC DBA Assurant Valuations, 28046 Network Place, Chicago, IL 60673-****.
