Dr. Stanley R Beard, DMD with Beard Dentistry in Jackson Alabama should not be in practice - much less be advertising himself as a "cosmetic dentist." My Wife and I went here to get a routine cleaning on June 8, 2015 and ended up being lied to, overcharged, and harassed by Dr. Beard and his inept staff. They refused to allow my service dog in the building (illegal). They lied about us not needing X-Rays (I sent them panoramic and bitewing X-rays from our previous dentist) and then refused to treat us without charging for additional X-rays. His staff (April Overstreet) lied about his qualifications - claiming he was a "Fellow in the AACD" (American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry" - when he is nothing more than a lowly General Member who has attended a few conventions - never even presented 1 case to the AACD! He insulted my wife and I. He told my wife that her "mouth doesn't close properly" because of her teeth being misaligned (not true at all) and had the audacity to question the integrity of my porcelain veneers which were placed by a Dentist who is recognized internationally as being one of the best in the World in his field (and a true Fellow of the AACD). Dr. Beard and his staff attempted to sell us dental services we didn't need - ranging from Airflossers to cosmetic dentistry. They told me that I had a gap under tooth #18 (not true) - they don't know how to read a bitewing X-ray or tooth numbering chart. They told my Wife that she needed $357 in additional services (not true). She just had all of her work done by our World Renowned Dentist back in December of 2014 - and we both practice excellent home dental care. They overcharged for our visit and were rude and incompetent (Amy McIntyre). Finally, on June 24, 2015 "Cindy" refused to send our unnecessary X-rays that we paid for! I wouldn't let these people practice dentistry on my Pitbull. Buyer Beware!
