My friends and I were regulars on AERIA game Last Chaos. Recently we all lost access to our accounts due to some ambiguous terms of service violation. The process to regaining and account that has accumulated alot of content is to fill out a long questionaire about purchases, characters and such that you would have to have detailed logs to know all the answers to. Surely a technical company could make restoration of a paying client's account easier than making them remember their last purchases as a way to prove they owned the account. We had all reduced our gameplay over the last year, because after spending a lot of money on a free to play game, the push to buy their enhancements interfered with the fun of playing.
