Quality and customer service

1

I tried to reach customer service by phone and tired of waiting for someone to answer. The reason for my call was to express my dissatisfaction with my Synapse I purchased five years ago. The 105 Shimano - 2 rings to 11 gears - has been like owning a British sports car i.e. a maintenance headache to keep it shifting well e.g.. oil the chain and pin's very often like after every other ride. The shifting system, including chain, had to be totally replaced, in less than five years, and this year the shifters for a total of ~ $550, My two earlier Cannondales (I owned two over twenty years) were dependable and bulletproof as far as dependable shifting goes. Also within months after buying the bike, which is carbon fiber, my shop had to re-epoxy the bottom bracket. Now I somehow lost the cover under the bottom bracket that gives access to the cables and have been told by my shop to cover the hole with tape. I was also told two things: I can't buy just that piece and oh you stopped making this frame in 2018? So to me that sounds like planned obsolescence This lead me to wonder if Cannondale or all bike makers are morphing. My search for my next bike may lead to other manufacturers , User's recommendation: Do your research and don't depend on past experenceeseprinced.
