Purchased a vehicle with motor damage
1
In October 2020 my husband and I purchased a 2016 Chevy Silverado from Nimnicht. Our salesman Romeo told us we had a great deal. The truck was sound and in great running condition. Told us that through Nimnicht part of their service was to provide breaks and windshield wipers. After having the truck that we are paying 45,000. 00 for, for 2 months we noticed that there were some issues with the truck. The motor was ticking, there were problems with the shifting in the transmission, the radio would change stations and scroll, the ac would go from cold to hot, the sensors in the tires would show our tire pressure was low, our brakes were catching, and the incline assist would come on a flat surface. We called the service department multiple times and were told they could not check our vehicle and that we could take it to any Chevrolet dealership for the service. We finally after months of trying to take it back to Nimnicht got it into Garber Chevrolet for service. This is the report word for word from Garber: 59772: Customer states the radio keeps scrolling through stations on its own and makes calls on its own: Verified customers concern. Found radio scrolling and randomly selecting stations. Found radio display screen INOP. Removed and replaced radio display screen assembly. Customer states every time they start the vehicle there's a ticking noise: Cause E 406**** Camshaft replacement 59778 verified customers concern. Found a ticking/scraping noise coming from the engine bay area. No codes or misfires present. Found noise coming from valve cover area. Performed a cylinder leak down test on all 8 cylinders. The Leak down test passed less than 10 percent. Next performed cylinder compression test on all 8 cylinders. All passed with 140-150 psi. Next performed cylinder deactivation on cylinder 1 ticking noise was gone but scrapping noise was still present. Then removed both cylinder heads and lifters found lifter roller on cylinder 1 sticking. Also found lifters binding on other cylinders. Inspected camshaft found lobe on cylinder 3 pitted. Removed and replaced camshaft and lifters. Now the above report came from Garber Automall in Green Cove Springs Florida. This tells me that I was sold a truck that was not certified. When, we contacted Nimnicht about the issue we were told to bring it in. The people at Nimnicht were very rude. The service manager Matt was condescending and treated us as if we were idiots. They kept my truck until yesterday March 9, 2021. To tell me that there was nothing wrong with my truck. My husband spoke with the sales manager Mark about getting rid of the truck and getting another vehicle he said we needed to come in and talk to him. So, we picked the truck up and went straight to Mark. Who then sent us to the salesman who sold us the truck Romeo. They have another truck there, instead of putting us into that truck they tried to sell us that truck but make us keep the current garbage truck. The salesman then, while outside with us heard the motor ticking and scraping. All he could say was its under warranty take around to service. I then told him that I had just picked the truck up from service and was told there was nothing wrong with my truck. This is the worst dealership and the vehicles are not certified. When a 2016 truck with 50,000 miles has engine issues from the start that's a problem. They do not want to make it right. So they have given us no choice but to contact an attorney about the situation. User's recommendation: I would tell anyone not to go to Nimnicht.
