Prinos Photography Screwed Up Our Wedding Album

Run, don't walk, away from Prinos Photography out of Concord, MA. At first, everything was fine. We wanted an unobtrusive, talented photographer for our wedding. We got a husband & wife duo who took nice pictures, sent us a beautiful proof book, and we thought things would be easy. They were not. We took a while (for personal reasons) to order our photos for our albums. Prinos said it was not a problem. We selected the photos from the proof book, decided on an album design for us and for both sets of parents, and waited. And waited... And waited. A few individual prints we ordered came in the mail. They were not of the same quality as in the proof book. Then we were told that the album company Prinos had been working with was awful and that several of their clients had issues with their albums. They gave us an alternative company, but one that did not do leather albums, so even though we were disappointed, we went through the decision process again. We just wanted our photos! So we waited again and finally got our parents albums. The photos were lousy! Where we had asked for black & white, we got color and vice versa. Some were greenish, some were grainy. One had my sister completely cropped out of the photo (I later found out because Prinos didn't like the expression on her face)! I couldn't believe the photos were sent to us like this! Upon talking to Prinos, they admitted that they converted the photos to a new format to save hard drive space, which probably accounts for some loss of quality. They also said their monitor was old and, since they had been working with it so long, could no longer tell if a photo was greenish, or if it was normal. They, of course, offered to reprint the photos. My concern was that my big album would have many of the same problems. Guess what? After having already waited more than 6 months, it turns out they hadn't submitted my photos to the album company yet! And what's more-- they were going to change album companies again. Deep breath. We choose another album design. We sat down and looked through all the prints before they were sent off to make sure they were right this time. Thank god we did, because several of these photos were off, too. I can't believe two photographers could not see, or had no concern for, the obvious in terms of quality. They were green, grainy, or way too light or dark. Whatever, crisis averted, right? Wrong. That was in March and we were told we'd get everything in 6-8 weeks. In June we finally got our album. Pages are out of order and several photos are missing. We have yet to receive the fixed parents' photos. I contacted Prinos yesterday who said, "You still want them?" Of course I still want them! Then she says I owe Prinos a balance. Apparently what was originally quoted to me was wrong. Anyway, they are holding the photos until I cough up more money. I am flabbergasted. I told Prinos I expected money back for all the trouble and the fact that I ended up with an inferior product after all anyway. They have no intention of any comps or discounts. This business (and it's a small family-run, two-person business) is an absolute nightmare. Save yourself some money, headaches, and lots of time by staying far away from Prinos Photography.
