Porting number and overcharge

I renewed my service so I could either forward or port my number that I have had for 10 years. The representative said I needed new equipment and charged me $59 I got the new equipment and I couldn't use it withh my internet provider It wouldn't plug in. So I couldn't port or forward my number. So I called back and got a new rep that said she would fix it, i told her i didn't care if it worked. I just wanted to be able to port my number. She charged me another $39. It still didn't work. So now I have almost $100 invested in this and it still doesn't worked I called again and again I was promised the problem would be fixed. It's been several weeks and it is still not resolved
