Original review updated by user Jun 25, 2021 I purchased an 8-cup Farberware Percolator in 2018. I still have a 12-cup Farberware percolator that is 30 years old and works great, but this 8-cup percolator has melted *** in the base that has now exposed the heating element wires. This product was tested by Intertek and "supposedly" passed testing requirements. My husband works for Underwriter Laboratories (competitor to Intertek), so I am seriously considering having him take the percolator to their household products lab for testing. I am not the only customer that has seen this same issue. When I look at reviews, I have found multiple customers with complaints and pictures showing the same issue I have. It is very disappointing that the Farberware name is no longer associated with "quality" as it once was years ago.
