I booked a bus ticket with a local travel agents in Koh Tao to Singapore, and travelled with Konsortium on the final leg of my journey from the Hat Yai office to the Golden Mile Complex in S'pore. I was very impressed with the coach service and facilities. Though on my return, I had to book the reverse leg of the trip once I arrived in Hat Yai and used Konsortium as the booking agent because of my first impression. I paid 850 baht for a minibus to Surat Thani, then a night boat to Koh Tao. On my arrival in Surat Thani I was told the ticket was not valid for travel on that night's boat and that I would have to pay a further 550 baht to board the boat that evening. I had been travelling for 24 hours and was not intending to stay another 24 hours in Surat Thani. I specifically asked the travel agent to confirm the time & date of the ticket issued as I didn't want to spend very long in the town, I chose to spend the extra time in Hat Yai. I was very dissapointed in the service I recieved and will no longer be using Konsortium. I will also make a point of retaining names, telephone & ticket numbers whenever I travel in the future.
