No Reservation at Check In

We booked a hotel night at the RedRoof Inn PLUS Suites in Chattanooga through Hotels.com. Upon check-in the hotel advised us that they could not find the reservation. We had to pay again. We called Hotels.com to request a refund on the Hotels.com booking. We were disconnected after a lengthy hold time..twice. Hopefully we can get the situation resolved and receive a refund. User's recommendation: Call the hotel before arrival to ensure your reservation is in the hotels system.
