No liability due to 3rd party contract
Ok. I pay to hire a car in Guernsey through Europcar. I am allowed to cancel 24 hours before if I cannot fly. I cancel the booking 24 hours before direct with the Europcar desk in Guernsey. I ask for a refund from the booking desk in Guernsey. I am told that they cannot refund as I booked it through a 3rd party. They are not Europcar, they are Harlequin Cars. As the cancellation was made through Harlequin Cars, who are the agents, Europcar is responsible but Europcar never received the cancellation. User's recommendation: Just look at who you are buying from.
