I received a phone call from Manarch resort that said my wife and i won. There were five prizes and we were guaranteed to go home with one of them: $100,000 in cash, trips (to Hawaii, Tahiti, Mexico, Vegas), or a car. I thought it was a scam so i looked at their web site and i got excited. Then i read pissed off consumer reports and i found out there were a lot of complaints, i also found out it was a timeshare which they failed to mention to me on the phone. i knew it was a scam. But i live two blocks away so i went anyway and they have a really nice office. there were a lot of people that received the same phone call that i did. The sales people joke a lot and are really nice, it is a friendly environment. At the end we said no. They were still nice and came down in price so that it could be "affordable" (its about $10,000 with a 10% down payment that day, and monthly payments over 5yrs.)Plus its a 1 time deal only so you buy it today or you don't get it. We still said no so they gave up and the friendly vibe was gone. they sent us for our prize which was obviously set up so you get the cheapest prize. The box is a bunch of cards that you scratch and we got a star which meant spin the wheel. The wheel is full of numbers (1-50 or so) and 2 wedges that have letters. If you get one of the wedges with the letters you can win a trip, if you get a number you get a day at a theme park of your choice, a trip to vegas, or southwest tickets. i am sure its worth about $200 which is what all of the other 20 people who were there got also.No one won the $100,000. It was good for us because we live so close, it took us about 2hours to listen to the presentation but if you live far and you don't want to buy a timeshare then just stay home. If you like really nice vacations all the time and can afford to invest $10,000 then it seems pretty cool. The least you walk away with is 2 hrs of wasted time and 2 free tickets to vegas/or theme park.
