Misdirection and fraud

1

Update by user Aug 20, 2018 Excuse me: Federal Trade Commission. Update by user Aug 20, 2018 I was told by the Federal Communications Commission not to send them any more money. They are doing a bait-and-switch pricing scam. They had a woman call me last year who had nothing to say except she kept saying "yes" over and over. Then they said they had a recording of my voice agreeing to their deal. The FTC told me they cut and paste the audio of your voice (or anyone else's, it seems) into the recorded conversation to make it look like you agreed. I k now what I said and I was very specific about it and the man on the phone who took my order agreed to it. I have since paid over $600, so according to the deal I agreed to, one unit is paid for. I recently got a phone call from a different person from their company wanting to discuss my account. It was not that Suzette creature that laughed at me for talking to the FTC. I will keep you posted on the results of the upcoming conversation, which I plan to record on my end, also. Thanks. Your review #121**** about ListenClear Original review posted by user Mar 22, 2018 I responded to a TV commercial to order two hearing aids. I only needed simple ones so I opted to call Listen Clear. I was told the units were $800 each. I said I couldn't afford it so I was put on hold, then told the supervisor had approved the price of $600 each since I was buying two. I agreed to that. The payments are $39.99 per month but I send $40. I keep getting Invoices for two totaling $1679.76, which makes the units more like $800 each, not $600. I have regularly written a notice on the invoice which I return to the company, because my bank does automatic payments. I have yet to see a correction. The Federal Communications Commission told me that these companies try to get you to say the word "Yes" and since it's recorded, they paste it into a conversation they recorded with you so it looks like you agreed to something you did not. Today a woman from their "credit department" called me saying my payments were up to date but she wanted to fix a problem with it. I told her to fix the bill. She became irate and argumentative and talked over me, then accused me of not letting her "fix" the problem. She acknowledged she should not be talking to me on the phone but continued to talk anyway. We eventually hung up. I only have one company name and one address to send to payments to, and my bank sends the payments on time every month, as agreed. They have refused to correct their records reflecting the agreed upon price but have called me with repetitive questions about "how are things going? Everything ok?" I refuse to say the word "yes" and told her I don't trust the company. She stated that they are a reputable company and they don't do things like this. Another lie! I am sending a follow up letter to them but am seeking a higher-up authority that has some control over this company. I see that they are now saying to send checks to ICOT Hearing Systems, LLC. Since my bank sends the payments, I can only add this name to the list of company names to be included with the payment. I'm still not sure what problem she wanted to "fix" but dunning me for $800 each for units that were sold to me for $600 is clearly the bigger problem to date.
