Towards the end of 2016, I was contacted by Solar Therm UK based in Basildon, I guess as a result of me being on a database somewhere, having had solar panels fitted previously. A Senior Energy Assessor attended my home address and when working out the facts and figures, presented a very plausible package, for having RHI fitted, which included free annual servicing and parts, which made the package even more appealing with peace of mind on servicing. The highly priced equipment necessitated my taking out a loan which will I will be paying until my mid sixties. The installation took a couple of days, on completion the engineer in charge of it, showed me how to operate the system and re-iterated that annual servicing was included so I had nothing to worry about. My system was registered with Ofgem in December 2016. That was over a year ago, so not knowing the protocol re servicing, ie. whether the company should contact me or vice versa, I sent them an e-mail regarding the service. They replied saying that my system did not include servicing, but they could offer a service at £150.00 plus VAT. This is a direct contradiction of what I was told by the Senior Energy Assessor and the engineer. I have been in direct contact with said engineer and Senior Energy Assessor who both confirmed that servicing and parts were part of the package. On speaking to the Senior Energy Assessor I specifically asked if the included servicing was part of the package that he was instructed to offer by this company, he again confirmed that was the case. I have since further e-mailed SolarTherm on this issue, fearing that I have been mis-sold this system, or perhaps they have made a mistake when denying me the inclusion of servicing and parts. Have any other customers had similar problems.
