Maintenance rip off, Mexican location is no longer desirable for me.

Every year I ask if my maintenance fee can be prorated and paid monthly and it's fine at beginning and then whammo, it stops and I get charged the fee and a fine. Now of course, with Covid, being my age of 72 and respiratory problems I can't go anywhere, especially since I came home from Cabo the last time with Pneumonia. I asked if I could sell my timeshare and they claim that I can only surrender. I am supposed to be able to trade with Interval and the whole system is confusing and expensive. I am better off without any timeshare and if I am lucky enough to travel in the future then I will do on my own.
