Lying and misuse of policies
2
After 5 years with Cricket, I'd had enough issues that the next time I needed a new phone I decided to switch providers. I have five lines. I was able to switch over four lines to Verizon, but I had to wait for the fifth phone. It was nearing the end of my Cricket month, auto pay was set up for the 25th of the month. The first four accounts were switched away from cricket on the 20th, but we were waiting on the fifth phone. On the 23rd I stopped into a local Cricket and told them my issue, that it was getting close to the billing time and we were waiting on a phone. Should I cancel now, or wait until I had the other phone set up? The woman at the store said definitely don't cancel before the switch takes place or you won't get to port your old number to the new service. So the phone didn't come in until the 25th. I ported the number over and hoped for the best. On the 26th the charge came through. I called Cricket and at first I was told, you had the account on the 25th, so you had access to it so you should of course pay for it. I explained that it was closed on the 25th. He said he wasn't going to help me. I said that's unacceptable. He said to just dispute the charge and they would reverse it "no questions asked". I stupidly believed him. Guess what, they're disputing the reversal. Of course. If they are that desperate for money that they are going to charge me for a full $50 month when we had their service that month for a couple of hours, I am going to do all I can to caution people away from them. The stupid charge policy and the lying on the phone to get rid of me. Dirtbag company.
