Link Tronics Guesses At LapTop Failure
Purchased a refurbished ThinkPad from Link Tronics. It arrived w/ a bad battery. It worked normally for 30 days. I replaced the battery. The LapTop died and would not turn on just after the 30 day warranty ended. Shipped it back to LT for repairs at my expense for repairs/shipping both ways. They said it had viruses from antivirus software that they had originally installed but now deny. They reloaded XP again. Returned it to me w/a defective power unit and same bad battery. They shipped me a replacement used power unit that works so the laptop would turn on. Now it will not load any software by disc. They told me the CDRW/DVD Unit was problematic so they sold me a replacement CD/DVDRW unit at cost/shipping. Waiting the CDRW/DVD Unit to arrive. I hope it is not a used part. I then will install that and see if I can load the XP compatible printer and office programs that originally worked before the big crash. At this point this CPU has cost me as much in repairs/shipping as it originally cost & it still does not work correctly. This was purchased for a homebound disabled person who is truly frustrated because the LapTop worked only for 30 days and is costing more each day as LT guesses at the problem and what is needed to fix it.
