Late billing/poor mailing

I have my mortgage with this company. My payment is due on the first of the month. Most of the time the bill comes in about the 20th of the month which I promptly pay but too often the bill comes in late, like the 27/28th. This month it came in on the 3rd, two days after due date. I do not use auto payment because I add extra pay to principal and when the payment is credited earlier it saves me a bit of interest. User's recommendation: Beware of late billing.
