KitchenAid® 30″ Electric SlideIn Range & 30” Wall Mount Canopy Hood

2

I paid a lot of money for this KitchenAid range, bought directly from Whirlpool and installed in May, 2021. Since it was installed, every time I use the oven one of the heat vents in the back scorches and burns the wall. Probably a venting issue, not a big deal, right? Combine that with the KitchenAid Hood Vent that I also purchased to go with it, and paid a lot of money to have installed by an HVAC technician - again, beautiful and very expensive but what the heck, you pay for what you get and you want it done right, right?! - that collects grease in the housing that drips down the wall every time I turn it on. Whirlpool (owner of KitchenAid brands) can't find anyone to come out to take a look at these appliances and diagnose and make the repairs. They keep saying they can't find someone in the service area who is available. Yet, I make a call to a major appliance repair firm local in my area and THEY can come out the next day - but Whirlpools says NO, they are not a Whirlpool Certified Repair provider (although they sell and repair Whirlpool and KitchenAid appliances and have been doing so for years). After telling me for over a month they were trying to make an appointment for me with a certified repair provider, they tell me there just aren't any available to service my appliances. And if you think I live in some rural area that is hard to service, think again... I am 35 miles outside of Boston, Massachusetts. So, I asked to speak to a supervisor. The supervisor tells me he understands my frustration and that they will buy back the appliances, and is now sending a service to come an uninstall them and take them out of my home. Has anyone tried to buy an appliance lately? They are OUT OF STOCK and back-ordered for MONTHS!!! I don't want them removed, I don't want them to be "bought back", I want them repaired. I just put in a brand new kitchen with brand new appliances, and now I will have no way to cook in my home for months after paying extra to buy supposedly higher end appliances that have been faulty since installation. It's unacceptable that Whirlpool says they don't have the capability to repair their own appliances. My warranty says REPAIR OR REPLACE, and they refuse to replace, they refuse to allow any other service provider to even take a look at the appliances, and they will not provide any consideration for the cost of installation I paid already (and by the way, their own instructions require range hoods be installed by a professional). What sort of service is this?? They are horrible to deal with, and completely inflexible and could care less about the hundreds I paid for HVAC installation and will have to pay again to replace the hood they refused to come out and repair. Bottom line - if you want to be treated like a respected and valued customer, do NOT buy a Whirlpool product. You'll pay lots of money that will get you nothing in terms of service if you have any problems at all, with no recourse.
