I'm looking for a class action lawsuits to jump onto against Kaplan College of Merriville, IN. I need help finding the attorneys handling this. I was deceived in every way possible. I started out in a class of 12 for a CNT (computer network technician). I ended up being the last student in the coarse before I felt like I wasn't wanted and felt forced to withdraw due to the lack of education and the staff making it as hard as possible from every angle. It first started off with a teacher that had numerous degrees except ones that applied to my courses. It was obvious she was learning as we were and everyone was getting open book tests and reviewing them afterwords so we all got A's. It gave us a false sense that we where actually learning. All courses had simulated disks but we could never do the one time download because we were never allowed by the admistrator. So every class every day we spend anywhere from 20 minutes to 1.5 hrs to reload these disk therefore it cut into our education time. I became so frustrated with this and already spent my budget on a desktop for home so I began carrying my computer tower to and from school which was rediculous. Other students became frustrated as well and began to withdraw. I have a family and took on a very expensive obligation and did my best to finish the associates degree but I feel Kaplan College was a joke. I finally on my last course got a teacher that worked in the field. I started getting C's and D's after pretty much receiving straight A's. It was a huge let down. I was a sememster or couple months from finishing this degree and realized I didn't know very much at all. I believe they set me up for failure. Still had to download simulated disks daily I had enough. So I chose to withdraw after complaining numerous times and nothing being done. Right after I signed the withdraw paper the administrator told me they where doing away with the CNT associates program because it was very unsuccessful. I told him Kaplan College was a bunch of thieves and should be ashamed of themselves. A few months later the college campus closed perminently. Now I have over $10,000 in student loans and still don't know much about computer networking. I wish I had just went to Ivy Tech a hands on program and not for profit. Someone please help guide me on the proper steps to addressing my situation and preventing this from happening to more of our youth. We are trying to better ourselves and getting ripped off having to take numerous loans out that don't cover all of the schooling and their pulling people with associate degrees and certifications in unrelated courses to teach these classes. It was and has been very upsetting to me. Not only a complete waste of my time but a huge rip off that's still building interest because I'm still in the same position I was prior to starting at Kaplan College.
