Inferior product and excessive service charge
1
I own a John Deere 3039R tractor with cab. I purchased the tractor in 2015 but have less than 100 hours on it. I use it mainly for winter snow removal on my acreage. However, I was using the tractor in July to smooth gravel in my drive when I noticed the air-conditioning was not working. I called our John Deere dealership to have a service technician come to diagnose the problem. The dealership is a 15 minute drive from my house. The technician was there for about 0.5 hours and didn't find the problem. He later called and said that since his pressure readings were fluctuating on the high pressure end I would probably need a new compressor. Really? I think that must be a pretty cheap compressor to begin with when I have used the air very little in 6 years. I have 96 hours on the tractor, mostly winter use. For the service I was charged $323.72. My complaints are 1) inferior compressor part and 2) excessive service charge.
