My daughter signed up for a membership while in college. We've kept the account over the years. I saw the renewal on my current credit card statement and wanted to cancel since we have rarely used it in years. I called to cancel, but they refused to cancel because I did not know which address my daughter used to open the membership. Despite being able to verify my identity, and it being on my credit card, they would not cancel the membership. I finally had to call my credit card company who disputed the charge, refunded me and blocked B&N I will never shop there again. Looks like Amazon will be my sole book provider from now on. User's recommendation: Do not waste your money on a Barnes and Noble membership.
