I recently bought a 28 ga. 686 Silver Pigeon I for my wife. The safety is virtually inoperable. My wife cannot disengage the safety. Beretta customer service could care less.

I requested a call back from a supervisor. Never happened. Basically, the customer service person blew me off. As a note, I own 4 other Beretta shotguns and have never had the problem that occurred with this one. User's recommendation: Make sure you check every action in the gun before you purchase. It never dawned on me to check the safety and it is not recommended to dry fire it.
