Hidden charges & unwillingness to speak to clients about it

When I signed up, the young lady who helped me failed to mention that I'd be charged an annual fee 4 months into the contract. Several emails have been sent back and forth between myself and a "customer support person" who claims that, due to the large number of clients, no phone calls are made as email is easier. Seriously? Thank God I am moving out of state and have been granted a release from my contract, because I wouldn't want to stay here much longer. And the staff at my location is generally incompetent and lazy. They showed no interest in helping me with this.
