Grammarly is a scam
1
Be aware! This company bills for services not authorized. I never ordered, or at least never intended to order the Grammarly Premium service. I only signed up for the free service. Though this may sound naive on my part, I did not notice the original billing on my credit card (they do not bill monthly, they bill quarterly, so it's less obvious) and so by the time I did notice it was my third charge of $59.95. I'm a mature adult who is in business and computer savvy but that does not mean that I'm not susceptible to business scams. I did not intentionally order Grammarly. They scammed me. As an example of how shady a company Grammarly is, this company has no customer service phone number (you can look it up). You can only submit a complaint over the internet. I contend that is because many others, like me, have been scammed and Grammarly does not wish to hear their complaints. What legitimate service company does not have representatives answering customer's concerns? It's not just that I was scammed of approximately $180 that irks me the most, it's the fact that I believe Grammarly intentionally has set up their business using fraudulent tactics. They know what's going on. If you look them up on the Better Business Bureau site you will see that almost all the one-star ratings refer to the same or similar issues that I have; billed for services not ordered and no customer service phone number to help resolve the issue. A large number of similar complaints would not be continually happening if it wasn't for the company's design. If they wanted to they could easily fix the problem with a more clear signup process and billing notifications. Instead, they keep it clandestine and steal money from the unsuspecting. Definition: scam /skam/ noun: scam; a dishonest scheme; a fraud. Grammarly uses scam tactics!!! User's recommendation: Beware!!!
