Ben, previously with The Heat Depot, now working at SOCO Heating and Cooling, came into my home Nov. 10, 2015 to service my furnace. I left him alone while getting my phone. When I returned to the basement, he was standing about 3 ft. from my furnace with his back to me and the furnace. He was looking down at himself and adjusting his clothes. I heard him zip his jacket. He turned and headed straight for the furnace humidifier cage and opened it. THAT'S ALL HE DID! He didn't check anything else. I opened my air filter compartment. He wouldn't bend or look at anything else. I later found 400 one dollar bills (vacuum packed) missing from my hiding place in my basement. I finally figured he stuffed my money in his waistband and stole it. Adding it all up, his theft cost me $1,199.00. His boss, Mike, (The Heat Depot) threatened me and wouldn't give me or my attorney their bonding insurance so I could file a claim. Breakdown: $299.00 furnace check (didn't happen) and duct cleaning, $400.00 Ben stole, $500.00 attorney fees. I will never use The Heat Depot or SOCO Heating and Cooling (Colorado Springs, CO). Also, SOCO Heating and Cooling removed my bad review and further blocked me so they could maintain their 5 star status. I wouldn't trust SOCO reviews. Also, I bet Ben had a better holiday than my grandkids. That money was for them. PS. Always secure and verify bonding insurance, and all certifications from all service companies BEFORE they enter your home. Thank you.
