Free trial code from Currys, but no confirmation or contact until started to get chargef

Dear Spotify, I noticed on my last credit card statement a charge of £9.99 from Spotify in Jan, Feb and March and thought it fraudulent. However customer services advise a free 6 month trial ended in Dec and automatically switched to premium. This free trial was via Curry's code, but as we revived no confirmation that the trial was set up or any other email from Spotify since then, we did not know we had to cancel any subscription. I have cancelled the subscription now, but feel duped by the lack of transparency. I do not feel these payments were authorised. Any other subscription provides confirmation of the set up and length of free period. Perhaps this is a glitch with setting up through a curry's code? However I would like a refund of £29.97 for 3 months unwanted and unused subscription. Customer services advised all they could do was close the account. I hope you can assist with this complaint.
