Expose’ of owner Mel Soto

1

Honesty and integrity are two things not found at Master Iron Company or Steel Entry and in their part-owner, Mel Soto. Nor were they to be found at the many other names Mel Soto has operated his steel door business under at 130 Main St in Grapevine, TX. I am his ex Sister-In-Law and I bear firsthand witness to Mr Sotos unethical core. I am writing this to expose this man once and for all. My husband, and Mel Sotos best friend at the time, died unexpectedly while I was pregnant with our first child. He left a life insurance policy that was to help secure my and our unborn childs future. Mel began borrowing money from me almost immediately. First in small sums, then larger chunks. At the time I was overwhelmed with the loss of my husband and having a newborn child and did not give enough thought to the matter. It was a mistake to have trusted him. In all, Mel Soto took over $130,000 from me, saying he would make me part owner of his steel door business. When he changed the name of the business, (the first time) he told me whatever claim I had died with the first business, but vowed to repay me, which he never did. Years later I had an attorney present a legal document to Mel Soto outlining the facts of his embezzlement and threat of a lawsuit if he did not agree to begin repaying me. Mel Soto signed the agreement and made a few payments before skipping out again. His business does well and he lives a life of luxury cars, first class flights and expensive suits, all while owing money embezzled from a former family member. He seemingly has no guilt or remorse for having perpetrated fraud on a then family member and widow of his best friend. This Is not the kind of man I would want to do business with. As for their product? I let him install one of his doors in our home as a way to let him repay me. The door turned my foyer into an oven in the summer and a freezer in the winter. The reason? The door was completely hollow-no insulation. The hardware was also cheap. It looked nice on the outside though. Come to think of it, Mels doors are a lot like him. Flashy on the outside, cheap and hollow on the inside.
