EDF – no means of paying bill

Every two months I receive a bill from EDF for my second home in France. The only means of paying for those who do not have a French bank account is to pay by credit card using the voice system by telephone (EDF will not accept a SEPA transfer). The voice system has been 'momentanement indisponible' for some months. They also provide two other telephone numbers that now cannot be used from outside France (at least not from my landline, mobile or Skype). I wrote a letter and received no reply, I just receive threatening letters with the same telephone numbers. My last attempt to clear this up will be to telephone the EDF shop in Chalon. The usual complaint from customers is that they overcharge, not that one cannot pay!
