Drive Unit warranty

I brought car in with concerns of my drive unit (under warranty) not responding correctly. I was advise it was perfect. Then two weeks after warranty expired I was told drive unit failed and needs to be replaced at $6k price tag. If a complete inspection of drive unit was performed, it would of been identified that coolant was leaking.
