Dr. Bob’s Was Rude, Insensitive, And Money-Grabbing

Went for a semi-annual check-up to Dr. Bob's Dentistry in Buffalo, NY. They wanted to take X-Rays. I stated that they should have the X-Rays from my previous provider on file, like I asked them to obtain from six months ago when I first visited there.. They didn't do it, wouldn't do it now, and insisted I need X-Rays now or they can't work on me. I stated that I don't like taking X-Rays and asked if they could just give me a cleaning instead. Again I was told no, that they need to see "what's going on with your teeth" and "we could be held liable if we give you a cleaning without the X-Rays." I'm not so sure about that, but even if so they're overall attitude really sucked. I checked online and it's not even true. Also, there are no such things as "safe X-Rays" and "they can cause cumulative damage over time". A lead apron is also not totally protective. I said I would try taking the X-Rays but if I *** or am uncomfortable they should stop. That was the agreement with the hygienist until the X-Ray technician came in with a bad attitude. She basically said she will not do anything differently such as try to take the slides out of my mouth more quickly if I'm gagging, and didn't like that I said if she couldn't do it then I would if I was uncomfortable. After all, it's my body, my mouth, and my oral hygiene, which is very good. She had a problem with this, I had a problem with her insensitive attitude, told her I'm uncomfortable with this place - where they treat you like a number, not a person - and walked out never to return without any work being done. They totally wasted my time. I'm logging this complaint as a warning to others, and also with my insurance company and possibly the BBB (as in Beware of Bob's Business). Uncle Bob's needs to respect its customers wishes, not try to fit everyone into its template which I found faulty, and definitely not attempt to do an insurance money-grab when there is no need to. I recommend not going to a place named Uncle Bob's but instead to a more reputable sounding place that has better business practices. I learned a lesson and will go only to professional places from now on.
