Don’t rely on Tesco
2
I received a phone call earlier from Tesco customer service to advise me that the delivery I booked for 3rd April 2021, to arrive between 09.0010.00 would now be delivered between 20.00-21.00 that day. Like many, I am eagerly anticipating a reunion outdoor lunch that day so ordered accordingly. Despite explaining that the proposed time was not acceptable, broadly the message was either accept the new slot or cancel. I was told there are no earlier slots available that day. I have the email from 9th March confirming my booking for the morning slot. To add insult to injury, I then received an email thanking me for changing my order! This comes after being royally messed around yesterday with my delivery. What is happening with Tesco's delivery service? It used to be so good. I am a longstanding customer, from long before the pandemic struck. Orders used to be chosen with care, now I regularly receive meat with 1 day's life left before the use by date. Worse, twice in the last 5 or 6 weeks I have received meat in my deliveries which was past it's use by date. Having then to go shopping rather negates having a delivery service. Short dates used to be noted on the delivery note so customers had the choice to accept the item or not, alas no more. So back to today's issue, do I feel like a valued customer? No, definitely not. No apology, just an arbitrary change and a take it or leave it response. I am seriously considering leaving it to be honest. I spend £000s with them each year and expect better frankly. User's recommendation: Don't rely on Tesco.
