The OnStar service is a joke. I had my vehicle stolen and called as soon as I received the text notification that my theft system had been activated. I was put on hold for 10 minutes then I was asked for a police report and police badge number. I informed the rep that I did not have that and let her know it was just stolen. She asked me to call to police and call back with the report number or police badge number. By the time the police arrived it had been 20 minutes. When I called back with the police officer there she then asked him for his information and again we where on hold so she could verify his credentials. By this time my truck was long gone giving the thieves a 45 min head start. She finally came back on and let the office know she could not ping my truck. Of course by that time she would not be able to ping it. The rep then told me they would continue to try and locate it for the next 48 hours. After the 48 hours I received a call from OnStar to let me know that they could not locate my truck and that they did all they could do. I asked what OnStar was going to do for me and I was informed they would issue me a refund of $42 for my moths subscription. OnStar is a joke I would never recommend this service and would NEVER purchase it again.
