I am writing this review on behalf of my mother who is 83 years old and if I could give this company a lesser rating I most definitely would. I would like to share with others about the last three occasions this company has been to my mother's house. The first was last September just before a hurricane was predicted to hit our area. I had took all the precautions of securing things in the yard as well as made sure her natural gas whole house generator was in good working order. Checked the oil which was good but noticed an unusual noise coming from it when I ran it. Called to have them come out to check it. They came right away and was told that the generator part was going bad and parts no longer available. I could understand that since it was 12 years old. This was a Thursday afternoon and the tech looked at everything related to the old generator and then scheduled us for the following Monday to install the new one. That Sunday I received a call confirming the appointment which I did. I was told they would be here at 8am and that it was a ONE day job. Come Monday the tech was three hours late. He removed the old unit outside and then set up the new one and then left for the day saying that they would have to come back to hook up the gas line. The next day they hooked up the gas line and then we were told they needed some other part. Needless to say the job was dragged out for a whole week. My mother was offered free service on the new generator for two years as well as some kind of gift card for the inconvenience. When it came time for the unit to be serviced she was CHARGED for the service. Immediately my mother told the tech about the service agreement and who she talked to about it. Their answer was that there was nothing noted about any such agreement and that the person my mother spoke to no longer worked for the company. Total BS and VERY unprofessional as far as I'm concerned. The second occasion wasn't much better either. My mother called because she was having trouble with her furnace. They came out three times within a period of two weeks. The first time the tech came he said there was a loose connection at the gas valve. The repair lasted only three days at most. The second tech that came was an arrogant jerk. He had the whole furnace torn apart more than necessary and had the nerve to get mouthy with me when I said something about it. He came real close to getting thrown out of the house by me. I called to report him but nobody would speak to me because while I was on the phone HE was texting them telling them a bunch of BS. After he left, HIS repair only lasted about a week. The third tech that came said that the gas valve was faulty and would need to be replaced. After the job was completed my mother was charged $865 for the repair with $715 of that for the part! Since I had the part number I priced the valve myself and found that my mother was charged ELEVEN times what the part actually costs! Once again TOTAL BS. On July 20, 2019 my mother called because she was concerned with her a/c not working properly. Whoever she spoke to told her that they were booked up and could not give her any kind of time as to WHEN they could have someone come to check it. When my mother explained to her that she has difficulty breathing when it is hot the person she spoke to acted as if she could care less. Knowing she was upset as well as concerned I got involved and called back. The woman I spoke to was very rude and when I asked her to get her supervisor on the phone she sarcastically said "sure I will get you my supervisor" and then hung up on me. I called back again and this time I spoke to a supervisor named Dan. I was not aware at the time that I was talking to him at a call center in Richmond,VA. WTF? I live in Virginia Beach. Dan was the one who told me that my mother has a service contract which gives her VIP status. He went on to say that he would talk to the person in charge of my area and see what he could do to get someone out to look at the a/c that day. When I asked for the name of the person in my area and a contact number Dan refused to give me that information. He did however call me back to say that someone would be out to check our a/c unit but it would be around 8:30 or 9:00pm. That was obviously a lie because nobody ever showed up and never even bothered to call us. I am glad that I called someone else while dealing with this company. The person I called came in no time at all. As it turned out the the condenser coils were extremely dirty and I was told that the unit was close to burning up! How is this possible? The answer to that question is very simple. The unit had not been serviced regularly yet my mother was charged for a service contract. The person who did come was very nice and he only charged $119 for his services. I thank God that it was a simple fix and after he acid cleaned the condenser coils everything has been working fine since. I am sure that if Michael and Son DID come out here that the bill would've been much more. Regardless I do intend to send them the bill for having to get someone else to do THEIR job that they are CONTRACTED to do.
