Do not bother buying gift cards

My daughter received a gift card and we went online to place an order, just as I entered my gift card information and credit card information I was kicked out of the website due to "high traffic volumes" is what the website stated. So I went back to reorder and use the gift card and the gift card now had a zero balance. Called customer service, they saw that I was kicked off the website once and that I used the gift card but clearly my order did not go through, but my second order went through, I called to at least get a $10 credit back to my credit card and they wouldn't do it, they said they would put the $10 back on the gift card. This is not the first time I ordered something and was kicked off and went to reorder and had no money on the card. So now I have a gift card that i don't even want to use. If the error was not my fault and they saw that I was kicked off the website the first time using the gift card, they should just credit my card but they won't. Don't think I will be going to Claires online or in store any time soon.
