Dissatisfied with warranty coverage

I have a Modernist Gas Cooktop, 36". The knobs continue to crack. I had 2 replaced (by some miracle) at no charge about 3-4 months ago. The knobs (that you turn the burners off and on with) are made of a very cheap plastic, and split. The Customer Service Dept states that they are not covered under warranty because they are cosmetic. Who are we kidding? At $50 a *** replacement. Afraid to see what it will take to replace a burner. This is totally unacceptable to me. cosmeticc User's recommendation: Do Not Purchase a "High End" product that you think will cover an essential item.
