DIRECT ENERGY is a NIGHTMARE I tried cancelling their service (and they use a bunch of different NAMES for their service so they can CONFUSE) when the gas company told me they were charging MORE than the gas company. DE told me they would cancel in 2 billing cycles. Recently I got a bunch of calls from a 216-763XXX phone number where they NEVER left a message and when i played my messages back, they were all BLANK. So, I BLOCKED the number and called it back from a different phone to see WHO it could be. They answered as 'Direct Energy'. I told the person, I BLOCKED them due to multi calls with NO message and also that a look up of the number they used did not resolve to 'Direct Energy'. Person who answered said they just wanted to make sure I really cancelled. they are a SCAM because they sign up for limited discount but don't really tell the consumer that. Next thing you know, your bills get HIGHER because they exploit consumers not realizing the discount is only for a limited time. Gets worse when you try to cancel, they say they will but say it takes 2 bill cycles. After THOSE bill cycles, they phone you and don't leave messages and they phone you from a number NOT associated with their company as far as being able to cross reference who it belongs to via Google and when you call that , low and behold, it's DE where they give you another song and dance that they were just trying to 'make sure' you really cancelled.
