After 4 months of my pools installation, my Hayward pump went out. It started smoking like crazy, so it was obvious it was bad. I called them to warranty it. the very rude lady that answered told me it would be up to 4 weeks for a tech to come out. I told her that was not acceptable. She said that was my only choice. In the mean time i went to my local pool supply company and bought a new pump. When I called her back to confirm the tech was still coming, I told her i had changed it. She said since i touched it , i voided the warranty.stay away from Hawyard, They do not stand by the warranty. User's recommendation: Stay away from Hayward. The warranty is not worth the paper it wrote on.
