Defective Valves

1

I was terminated from my employer last year for threatening to disclose to the public inferior/defective products we manufactured. I was a 14 year employee of Kennedy Valve Mfg. Elmira NY 14901 ( K.V.) a devision of McWane out of Alabama. I had a spotless record. I was most senior assembler at K.V. We manufactured water valves and fire hydrants used in infrastructure systems throughout the U.S. In beginning of 2014 I noticed a serious flaw in some valves we where making. Theses valves where used in fire suppression sprinkler systems. This flaw effected thousands of valves. Company chose not to notify public nor recall valves as these valves, with flaw contained, posed a potential serious threat to the public if they where to fail during a fire. I continuously pressed issue with management, as to the seriousness of the flaw. Company discharged me, and stated both on paper and in audio recordings I possess, that they believed me threatening to disclose inferior products to public could jeopardize there financial well being so I was terminated. K.V.'s majority of business is from tax payer funded projects, dealing mostly with waterway infrastructure within municipalities. This is not the first time either that K.V. has chosen to send out inferior products. I have many other instances where K.V. has chosen to send out inferior products to public.
