Customer service and crappy appliances

5

When I called Azuma a week before I was suppose to move (the 4th) from my old apartment within the same complex, I was informed that I would not be able to transfer my appliances, a washer and dryer, but instead they would be picked up and taken back to the warehouse and a different set of appliances would be delivered to my new apartment. There was even a "transfer" option on their phone menu. The earliest pick up date they could schedule for these appliances was the 11th. The delivery of the new set of appliances would not be for another week after that, which was the 16th. Now it must be noted here that the distance between my old apartment to my new was approximately 300 ft. If I had decided to move them myself it would have resulted in a charge of grand theft and prosecution would have ensued. So instead the appliances remained in my old apartment for another week while the new tenant had free use of these appliances, which I was still paying for until Azuma decided to pick them up. Now after talking to three different representatives on the phone and getting three different delivery dates for the "new" appliances, I finally got a confirmation delivery date via email for the 16th. Delivery was scheduled between 8am to 2pm on the agreed date. At 10 minutes to 2 I received a phone call from an Azuma representative informing me they can't deliver the appliances because the driver was lost and said we weren't getting our appliances until the 20th. Where upon I canceled the delivery all together and immediately called another appliance rental company. I will receive delivery of my new washer and dryer in two days compared to three weeks with Azuma and cheaper. Which is fine now because Azuma's appliances never did work. When I first received my appliances, they were utterly disgusting. There was hair still in the washer and it was gummy with the fabric softener from the previous renters. My dirty clothes were cleaner before they went in. They should have been embarrassed, at a minimum, to actually deliver this product. My dryer never did work properly and it would take three to four cycles to start heating and actually dry our clothes. One repair man from Azuma came out and said our vents were clogged and that I would have to get my apartment maintenance man to clean it out. A week prior before the service call, the fire marshal came through the complex and did a thorough inspection of all dryer vents both internal and external and all vents had already been cleaned prior to the inspection. Therefore the clogged vents could not have been the reason for the dryer not drying. The repair man was informed of this and left anyway without servicing the dryer.I called Azuma back and had another repair person sent out to my place to service my dryer fro the same problem. I talked to this repair person, who was sub-contracted by Azuma, and he told me that Azuma returns these appliances back to the warehouse and doesn't check them for any repair needs or replacement parts and instead recycles them to unsuspecting customers and waits for them to call in a repair order and charges them for the service even if there are no repairs made. Do not rent from Azuma. You will be getting expensive trash that they call appliances and maddening, frustrating customer service. I have been with Azuma for two years and this is the best I could expect from them. GOOD RIDDANCE AZUMA!!!
