Crappiest web account and app ever!

1

The application/web site used to reflect HSA account activity is horrible. It's like someone with no basic understanding of accounting set up this system (using the term loosely). It lists money that I have "deposited" as a "distribution withdrawal". When I asked the rep about it, she replied that it says withdrawal because it's being withdrawn from my banking institute. WHY? Why would I need Mercer to reflect what is happening at my bank? In addition, the "actual balance" is not the "actual" balance. It is the "pending" balance. Why would you use the word "actual" for a pending balance? If the money was "actually" there, I would be able to spend it. But I can't spend it because it isn't "actually" there! Please Mercer, I'm begging you, in the name of all things holy...use words that actually reflect what's going on in one's account. It's basic accounting for the love of Pete. My butt cheeks clinch every time I have to open this app or go to this website, because I know I'm going to have to hire a private investigator to figure out how much money I "actually" have available to pay my medical expenses. This is not rocket science. Please. Seriously...please. ALSO...why does it take up to nine days for a deposit to clear in the year 2020?!? User's recommendation: Encourage your company to go with another HSA provider.
