Clueless technical support, unable to get product information

I have a Q see 918 DVR and the cooling fan failed. Technical support said to oil it. I tried to explain the fan is sealed and cannot be lubricated. They said oil it. they could not tell me how to get a replacement fan. Fry's does not have one. I hung up. I then tried to find out the specs for the camera and were they compatable with another DVR. No straight answer. I have to have a user name and password just to get product info.
