Change date of service charge from 3rd to 1st of month with no notice causing over daft

Compass bank charges me a service charge 3rd every month however this month they charged my account on the 1st causing a over daft on my account . I recieve ss on the 3rd that is drafted in to my checking account . The question is why this bank conducts business changing dates of service charges with out any notice .
