A-1 Recovery Inc has a business that offers to put up 'no parking or you will be towed' signs and then sit there like vultures and wait for someone to not notice their little sign and park in the 'wrong' place. I parked in a vacant lot, next to a gas station, clearly not part of the gas station's uses, just a flat abondoned lot. I went to be part of a local festival parade and when I went back - no vehicle. They wait for these mistakes and then pick up your vehicle, tow you away and by the time you figure it out, and call them, then the driver calls you back and they ask for "cash only" in the tune of $149. Not sure what would happen should you not have the cash and for a lot of people it's a financially painful situation- it is a lot of money to give to people you cant help but feel are scammers, people who set up these situations to rake in the money. I was told they towed 6 vehicles from this vacant abandoned lot. I was told the owners called to have the cars towed- but it's a national chain gas corporation station, there would be no owner at the station calling about vehicles that were there just a couple of hours, during a festival that benefits all local businesses. The owners that allow them to post the signs should be Boycotted. The towns that allow this company to operate like this should be told that it is an unacceptable practice. Check out Sunbiz.org, look up their name, and see their business card registered you will see how they offer to put up these no parking signs, which is probably the 'contract' they say allows them to tow you. And by the other comments in this section- a lot of people are outraged by the way they abuse and overstep property rights. A the most for a 'error' of parking rules there should be a ticket- by the police, not a tow and cash only redeem!
